Democrats More Excited Than GOP About A Clinton-Trump Race

The primary race is far from over, but most voters already say a choice between the two presidential front-runners, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, is not one they are particularly excited about.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 52% of Likely U.S. Voters say given a choice between Clinton and Trump, they will simply be voting for the lesser of two evils. Forty-one percent (41%) say it’s a choice they are excited about. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted on February 29-March 1, 2016 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
